On February 15, the afternoon of the group's annual leave resumption, President Tao Desheng convened a work annual meeting for the company's middle and senior managers. Group directors, senior and supervisory management personnel at home, and more than a hundred management backbones attended the meeting. After listening to the work summary and plans of the group management team, Mr. Tao Desheng deployed comprehensive work, focusing on elaborating on innovation, service, integration, and development as the engines and driving forces for the company's operations in the next two years.

Mr. Tao said: The Year of the Goat has passed, and we have brought back a big fat sheep. This is the result of the hard work and progress of all employees, especially the sales team, who bravely fought and completed the tasks with high quality. This was achieved with over 15% growth despite the downturn in the industry. The results are hard-won; in 2016, the Golden Monkey rises, and the Great Sage returns. Whether we can gather the fruits of Flower and Fruit Mountain and hold next year's Peach Banquet depends on everyone's continuous efforts and hard work.
Everyone knows that the internal and external situation is not optimistic, but this cannot stop our march forward. What do we need to do when there are no difficulties? I have said: Open roads when encountering mountains, build bridges when meeting water. In a challenging environment, we can better test and train the team. The sand is washed away by the waves, which highlights the unique strength of our enterprise.
In the new year, how should we advance our work? Just now, each executive talked about their plans, and I agree with them. Specific execution still relies on everyone. I would like to share my views on the macro ideas.
In short, the guiding principle for 2016-2017 is to lead with eight characters. Everyone must thoroughly understand the core essence of these eight characters and execute them well.
Speaking of R&D, my requirement is: adjust the mindset, change the approach, and keep up with the times. Therefore, we have implemented a separation of the R&D headquarters and the research institute management, which is called supply-side reform. We must maintain a clear understanding; in the past, R&D aimed to obtain approval documents, but now it must be industrialized. With such a large investment in R&D, creating value is the key.
As mentioned earlier, biological drugs should lead domestically and align internationally; the same goes for chemical drugs. R&D must be more solid, preferring quality over quantity, rather than being comprehensive. We must focus: first, on transforming into a specialized company in biological drugs; second, on being patient-centered and using precision medicine as a means. Our biological drugs are already synchronized with immune and tumor detection and treatment.
Returning to the eight-character guiding principle of innovation, service, integration, and development, it must run through all our group's work. Innovation is not only about product innovation, R&D innovation, and marketing innovation, but also about innovating our way of thinking. Innovation must penetrate our bones, pulse through our blood, and become our gene. If we cannot establish an innovative mindset, but instead cling to the old ways and adhere to conventions, how can the enterprise develop?
Chemical drugs must either be the best, with high quality and low cost, or develop new specialty drugs that others cannot make. Biological drug R&D is implementing dual reporting; the products they develop are reported for both domestic and international approval. I require chemical drugs to also implement dual reporting, to find the right positioning, change the blind following, and align with international standards. We cannot deceive the government or the public; we must take on our mission and responsibility from the perspective of life and health.

Therefore, the eight-character guiding principle is not only a thought but also an action program, including innovation in service, and regulation is also a form of service. The eight-character principle has profound internal logical connections, with each link connected to the next. We cannot neglect one aspect while focusing on another, nor can we be biased. Every employee, especially managers, must not take the words at face value but must implement them in specific work, allowing employees and customers to feel a sense of participation and gain.
Innovative service is a starting point, a process, and integrated development is the result we want to achieve. In summary: innovation is the outline, and development is the foundation.
The progress in sales over the past few years has been driven by innovation, such as utilizing internet tools and integrating internal and external resources. Next, our customers will surge from hundreds of thousands of end users to over a million, which will test our IT and financial responsiveness. Why were we able to achieve growth last year despite industry difficulties? It is all about innovation. Just now, General Xu made a military order: this year we must complete the task 100%. Why? Because we have confidence, innovative paths, and the motivation and efficiency for development. Development is the hard truth.
When I first took on the responsibility, some said it would be difficult for Lizhu to move up. But I have confidence; old Lizhu has a good foundation, resulting in 5 billion after 30 years, and from 2014 to now, it has surpassed 6 billion. What is the reason? Everyone is willing to innovate and is more willing to promote development together. In 2016, everyone was enthusiastic, and all fields must achieve the specified growth rate, break down targets, accept challenges, and achieve the goal of equity incentives.
Lizhu's goals are locked in, positioning is clear, and the team is enthusiastic. This shows that everyone has confidence in the company and in themselves. As long as we act according to the eight-character principle, with innovation as the outline and development as the foundation, the company will definitely be able to grow against the trend!
Therefore, the eight-character guiding principle is not only a thought but also an action program, including innovation in service, and regulation is also a form of service.
