Recently, the list of winners for the 2021 Innovation Zhuhai Science and Technology Award has been publicly announced. The research and industrialization project of the innovative drug injection of Esomeprazole Sodium by Livzon Pharmaceutical Group is included in the list of first-class technological progress awards.
The Innovation Zhuhai Science and Technology Award is a scientific and technological award initiated by the Zhuhai Science and Technology Development Promotion Association under the guidance of the Zhuhai Municipal Bureau of Science and Technology Innovation. It aims to fully leverage the positive role of scientific and technological awards in encouraging independent innovation and to create a favorable atmosphere for scientific and technological innovation, being regarded as the inheritance of Zhuhai's "heavy rewards for science and technology."
According to the "Management Measures for the Innovation Zhuhai Science and Technology Award," the Zhuhai Municipal Bureau of Science and Technology Innovation will prioritize projects that have won the Zhuhai Science and Technology First Prize or above for nomination recommendations to the provincial science and technology awards, and include them in the provincial and national science and technology award project cultivation database.
The injection of Esomeprazole Sodium is a category 2.2 innovative drug developed by Livzon Pharmaceutical Group over ten years, filling clinical treatment gaps. It is administered once a day, completely rewriting the treatment regimen of similar products that require administration twice a day. It received priority review from the National Medical Products Administration (CDE) and was globally launched exclusively in 2018, indicated for bleeding peptic ulcers. It has six authorized core invention patents, one PCT application, has led the completion of two national quality standards, and has undertaken major national projects during the 13th Five-Year Plan, receiving the "13th Five-Year Plan China Pharmaceutical Science and Technology Landmark Achievement" award.
