Time flies, the original intention is like a torch.On the morning of July 12, 2023, Sichuan Guangda Pharmaceutical Company held a ceremony for the 55th anniversary of its establishment and the inauguration of its new factory in the new factory area located in Pengzhou Tianfu Traditional Chinese Medicine City. Wu Gang, president of the Chinese Society of Traditional Chinese Medicine Informatics and former deputy director of the National Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Jiang Deyuan, former director of the Medical Device Registration Management Department of the National Medical Products Administration, Xiao Shiying, former deputy director of the Biotechnology Development Center of the Ministry of Science and Technology and former president of the China Association of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Zhang Dazhong, secretary of the Party Leadership Group and director of the Sichuan Provincial Drug Administration, and leaders and guests from the Lizhu Group witnessed this historic moment together. This is the day of Sichuan Guangda Pharmaceutical's relocation, and it is also another starting point in the glorious journey of Sichuan Guangda Pharmaceutical.

Just at the right time, things change and stars move.

Sichuan Guangda Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. has been established for 55 years. Over the past 55 years, Guangda people have been pragmatic, hardworking, and enterprising, moving steadily and far. Although it has experienced multiple major changes such as state-owned enterprise reform, equity changes, and corporate transformation, it has always maintained youthful vitality and a steady development trend, contributing to the local industrial economic development of Pengzhou. Due to the need for capacity development, in 2019, the construction project of the new factory officially started preparation and was grounded in September of the same year. After four years, the new factory of Guangda was finally completed and put into use.

At the ceremony, Cai Xinfeng, assistant to the president of Lizhu Group, general manager of the Traditional Chinese Medicine Division, and general manager of Sichuan Guangda Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd., delivered a welcome speech. He said: "This is the first factory relocation in the 55 years since the establishment of Sichuan Guangda Pharmaceutical. This is not a simple physical displacement, but a process reengineering: in addition to the hardware equipment reaching the leading level in the traditional Chinese medicine industry, it also provides a more advanced experimental operation platform, maximizes the potential of talents, strengthens the construction of advanced think tank teams, and increases the intensity and speed of new product research and development. It can be said that this is a comprehensive upgrade of Guangda's 'rebirth'.

Tang Yanggang, executive director and president of Lizhu Group, proposed three hopes for the new era of Sichuan Guangda at the ceremony:

First, it is hoped that Sichuan Guangda will take the opportunity of the new factory relocation to leverage the national support for the inheritance and innovative development of traditional Chinese medicine, and accelerate the development and speed of new products while ensuring capacity supply, allowing the group’s traditional Chinese medicine field to shine brightly again.

Second, it is hoped that Sichuan Guangda will take the opportunity of the new factory relocation to strengthen the cultivation of talent teams and continuously improve the level of modern enterprise management. The hardware facilities have already reached a national leading level, and the construction of talent teams and management levels should also rise accordingly, cultivating and selecting top talents in various fields, allowing Sichuan Guangda to truly undergo a transformation.

Third, it is hoped that all Guangda people will not forget their original intention and remain steadfast in their beliefs. They should inherit the excellent style of the older generation of pharmaceutical workers who are not afraid of hardship and fatigue, dare to fight tough battles, be innovative, strive to be the first, and work hard to improve their overall quality in line with the requirements of the times, becoming a benchmark in the industry.

Jiang Ming, deputy secretary of the Pengzhou Municipal Party Committee and mayor, stated at the ceremony: Looking back at the past, for fifty-five years we have weathered the storm together. The Pengzhou Municipal Party Committee and government have always walked hand in hand with Guangda Pharmaceutical. Sichuan Guangda Pharmaceutical was established in Pengzhou in 1968, forming a partnership with our city and a community of development, jointly promoting the development of the traditional Chinese medicine industry in Pengzhou and singing the brand of Pengzhou traditional Chinese medicine. Over the past 55 years, generations of Guangda people have worked hard and continued to strive, writing the corporate mission of "promoting tradition, focusing on health, and giving back to society." Especially after joining Lizhu Group in 1998, the company has entered a fast track of rapid development, becoming the largest research and production base for antiviral cold Chinese patent medicine in the western region. The completion and commissioning of the new factory will press the "accelerator" for the development of Guangda Pharmaceutical and for the development of Pengzhou.

Zhang Dazhong, secretary of the Party Leadership Group and director of the Sichuan Provincial Drug Administration, congratulated the completion and commissioning of the Guangda new factory at the celebration ceremony. He said: "Now is the best time for the development of the traditional Chinese medicine industry. The state has issued the 'Implementation Opinions on Promoting the Inheritance and Innovative Development of Traditional Chinese Medicine.' We must seize the major opportunities for the development of the traditional Chinese medicine industry in Sichuan Province, be enterprising, and innovate while adhering to the right path. Tianfu Traditional Chinese Medicine City, located in Pengzhou, is an important part of the ecological chain of the pharmaceutical and health industry in Sichuan Province and also a demonstration base. Sichuan Guangda should take the opportunity of the new factory's commissioning to strive to build the enterprise into an industry benchmark, actively integrate into the overall development of the industry, fully leverage its brand advantages, and achieve high-quality development of the enterprise.

Subsequently, a grand launch ceremony was held at the celebration site. The opening of the ceremony marked the official commissioning of Guangda Pharmaceutical's new site and laid out a grand blueprint for the future development of Sichuan Guangda Pharmaceutical, looking forward to a better tomorrow.

Sichuan Guangda Pharmaceutical New Factory

This new factory, with an investment of 646 million and covering an area of 200 acres, has built a nationally leading fully enclosed and fully automated granule production line for traditional Chinese medicine. Its intelligent new production model will further enhance product quality, improve production efficiency, significantly reduce logistics and transportation costs, and achieve energy conservation and emission reduction, among other advantages, opening a new era of intelligent manufacturing for Guangda.

During the construction of the new factory, especially since July last year, Sichuan Guangda Pharmaceutical has been in a state of high-speed operation, with a team working on both the old and new factories simultaneously. On one hand, the old factory has been operating at full capacity, while on the other hand, the installation and debugging of new equipment in the new factory, process verification, technology transfer, trial production, and other tasks have also been advancing simultaneously. It is particularly worth mentioning that despite numerous difficulties, Sichuan Guangda has already exceeded its annual production task indicators in the first half of the year, with a significant increase in the production capacity of its core product, antiviral granules.
