The group's chief scientist went to Beijing to attend the Science and Technology Awards Conference.
The "Aiprazole Research and Industrialization" project, led by Chief Scientist Hou Xuemei of the Lijuzhu Group, is the first and only Class 1 patent new drug in the field of digestive therapy in China, which won the second prize of the National Science and Technology Progress Award in 2015. This morning, Hou Xuemei went to Beijing to attend the National Science and Technology Award Conference at the Great Hall of the People on January 8 to receive the award.
The Aiprazole developed by Hou Xuemei's project team is the latest generation of proton pump inhibitors launched globally, significantly improving the shortcomings of similar drugs, such as short acid suppression time, large individual differences, and many drug interactions. Through innovative integrated structure-activity design, gastric acid pH monitoring, and genotyping technology, as well as key technologies for raw material drug oxidation and crystallization, and targeted drug release technology, they overcame challenges in the research and industrialization process. After being the first to launch globally in 2008, 37 invention patents were applied for, and 23 patents were authorized in the United States, Europe, and other regions. It is used in over a thousand hospitals, with an annual output value exceeding 100 million, demonstrating significant economic and social benefits, and serving as a model for independent innovation in China's pharmaceutical industry.
Returning to Beijing
Lijuzhu Group's receipt of the national award has attracted attention and acclaim from relevant departments and the media. Zhou Peng, Deputy Secretary of the Group's Party Committee and Assistant President, led a working group to Beijing to discuss and communicate with relevant parties and the media on issues such as Lijuzhu's research and innovation.
